The focus of this conference is to “Renewal and with themes of Self Care, Cultural Safety, Social Justice, Diversity, Human Rights, Anti Violence, Creating Good Spaces, Indigenizing curriculum, Holistic healing & Learning.
Drawing from the Truth and Reconciliation Report, the design of this conference is built from many calls to action within the report, and beSuperior’s sense of urgency to start this process in Thunder Bay, additionally, Thunder Bay being a site in the north which is a central location for Indigenous communities from the north, south, east and west. Isolated in many aspects and huge catchment areas to serve, Thunder Bay is a good location for offering this conference because of it’s proximity to communities, and the needs that have been stated around disconnect, a need to understand and mutually work together in building community.
